Just like their on-ear counterpart, the RPT-01, the Adidas FWD-01 Bluetooth In-Ear Headphones are manufactured by Zound Industries, giving them some more street cred for quality than you may otherwise associate with the brand. If you’re an active person, it’s a strong possibility that you choose not to take bulkier on-ear headphones for a run or to the gym. We completely understand, but it means earbuds may be your only option.
Have no fear, though, they’re a great option for the gym because they’re both sweat-proof and water-resistant and like the RPT-01 have a water resistance rating of IPX4.
Again, we have to point out that this means they’re protected from splashing water but are not waterproof, so take them off before you swim laps or shower.
Don’t throw them in the washing machine either! The RPT-01 headband and knitted ear cushions are washable, but this is an in-ear model so it’s all one piece with no removable parts – with one exception. These earbuds come with three different sizes of interchangeable ear tips and wings so they stay secure once you put ’em in. While lacking Siri or Google Assistant integration, the microphone and audio controls are neatly integrated into the strap.
Like the RPT-01, the Adidas FWD-01 Bluetooth In-Ear Headphones can pair with an app for audio equalization and battery level monitoring. It’s nothing fancy, but if you want to see how much juice is left over, you can use your buds accordingly even if you’re just a casual listener.
When it needs a charge the included USB-C charging quickly gets you back getting your groove on. If you’re looking for more, the higher-end brands will come with a higher price tag, but these will only set you back $149 even if you have to pay full price.
