CES 2020 has come. For the last 18+ years in January, I have made a yearly to Las Vegas. This year, CES is once again held in that oasis of adult entertainment that is Las Vegas. From Jan 7th through January 10th, hundreds of thousands of people will decent to this city to visit the all-important industry trade event that showcases the latest and greatest in consumer electronics.
This year is going to be different; It would be the first one in many years that I am going to miss voluntarily. There are several reasons why I am going to miss it, but mostly because I have a flight out of the united states a few days after CES, and I cannot afford to get sick. My traditional CES experience includes fatigue, foot soreness, including plantar fasciitis, a clogged up sinus, and possibly a sinus infection. With the possibility of a viral incident, I cannot afford to cancel an up and coming trip, which takes precedence.
What is so essential that I have to miss out on CES for this year? My dear friend Ellen is getting married in the Philippines, and I have a pre-wedding trip to Dubai and India ahead of her wedding. This means that I will be out of the United States for more than eight weeks; the schedules just did not work out.
Fear not, though, for our intrepid group of contributing editors are present at CES, and we hope to bring you some reviews of products showcased at CES 2020 later on as the weeks go by. 2020, I hope, lives in the infamy; after all, they do say, hindsight is 2020. I hope I don’t regret it.
